Enterprise Resource Planning System.

I'm studying. almost 1 hour after I started until I get this idea.
typing the notes here.
this is sub topic and don worry it note only..I had make it short.yeah short but compressed.
oh yaa.before I forget, this Tuesday is my first paper for my final exam on this semester.

guys, did you know Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system ? let me define this...brief a bit yah..

ERP : set of integrated programs that manage a company's  vital business operations for an entire multisite, global organization

Business process : set of coordinated and related activities that takes one or more kinds of input and creates an output of value to the customer of that process.

ehem..usually big company use this system.

advantage of ERP

• Improved access to data for operational decision making
• elimination of costly,inflexible legacy systems
• improvement of work processes based on best practices [depend 1 system : centralized]
• upgrade of technology infrastructure [upgrade software etc]

Disadvantage of ERP

• Expense and time in implementation [costly expensive]
• Difficulty implementing change [need to train all workers to use this system.handle staff attitude]
• Difficulty integrating with other systems
• Risks in using one vendor
• Risk of implementation failure

here some tips for avoiding ERP failure :

• Assign a full-time project manager
• Appoint an experienced, independent resource to oversee project and validate system performance
• Allow sufficient time for transition
• Spend substantial time and money for training
• Define metrics to assess progress and identity risks 
• keep project scope well defined
• be wary of modifying ERP software to conform to firm;s business practices
